No!  You can complete this course when and where you want!  No need to sit in a class.

What do I need to do to complete this course?

Simply register and complete this course in one sitting and in your own comfort.  You only pay upon successful completion of the course.  Print, complete and return the Declaration Form and if applicable the Construction Training Fund's (CTF's) Work History Form to us, and upon receipt of all required documents we will send your White Card and Statement of Attainment within two working days.  Please allow for Australia Post delivery times thereafter. 

Note:  You will require a printer to print the required forms.

What are the steps of completing this course?
  • Register
  • Complete course in own comfort
  • Upon successful completion of all four elements pay the course fees
  • Print, complete and return the Declaration Form
  • Students paying the Construction Training Fund's (CTF's) subsidised fee must print, complete and return the Work History Form to us
  • Students paying the NECA Member Fee must disclose their NECA membership number, and if paying the CTF's Subsidy Fee also print, complete and return the Work History Form to us
  • The required documents (eg compulsory Declaration Form, CTF Work History Form if applicable) can be emailed (coordinator@cet.asn.au), faxed (08 9240 4349) or sent (PO Box 811, Balcatta WA 6914)
  • You will receive a confirmation email from us advising that the course was completed successfully
  • Upon successful completion of the course, receipt of payment and the required forms we will send the White Card and the Statement of Attainment to you within two working days.  Please allow for Australia Post delivery times thereafter.

Do I have to keep my registration details in a safe place?

Yes!  Please ensure that you keep your login details (username and password) as well as the answers to your security questions safe and confidential at all times.  We will have no way of retrieving your login and security details as these are stored by the online system.  Should you be unable to provide the correct answers to the security questions you will be required to register and complete the course again!  

Please note that your username and password are case sensitive.

What are the Security Questions used for?
Throughout the course the online system will check the answers to the Security Questions as provided by you during the initial registration.  These questions need to be answered correctly for verification purposes.  Should you be unable to provide the incorrect answers you will have to register and complete the course again. What does the course consist of?
The course consists of four elements, their course notes and multiple choice answers to questions following the notes. Throughout the course and its questions you can return to the course notes anytime for further clarification. Back to top
What if I answer the assessment questions incorrectly?

You must pass 85% of this course to be deemed competent and to obtain your White Card. 

Questions that have been answered incorrectly will be shown in a question summary at the end of the applicable element. 

Should you be unable to pass 85% of this course you can repeat the course which will contain new assessment questions.

What is the Declaration Form?

By signing and completing the Declaration Form you declare that you have completed the course and its assessments without help of third parties.  This Form needs to be witnessed.  

Please note that we reserve the right to contact students, who are believed to have obtained help from third parties in the completion of the course and its assessments.  Upon verification, should we not be satisfied that the registered student completed the course no White Card will be issued.  In this case, no fee refund will be given.

Who can claim for the CTF (previously BCITF) Subsidy?

Subsidised Construction Training Fund (CTF) course fees may be available to persons currently working in the construction industry or unemployed persons who have worked in that trade in the previous six months. 

The fee subsidy does not apply to persons working in the security and mining industries, plant maintenance areas or Government employees (including armed services, etc).

To be eligible for the subsidised fee the student must complete, sign and return the Work History Form.  We will handle the claim process for you, you simply pay the subsidised fee and forward your claim form together with the Declaration Form to us.  Should CTF decline the subsidy claim the student will be required to pay the full (non subsidised) fee.

The Work History Form is required from students claiming the CTF subsidised fee and will be used as proof that the student is eligible for the subsidy. Back to top

We will.  If you are eligible for the CTF Subsidy, please complete and return the Work History Form as well as the Declaration Form to us and we will do the rest for you. Back to top
I am a NECA Member – What do I need to do?
NECA Members must disclose their NECA membership number throughout the registration process.  Should you be unable to provide your NECA membership number during the registration the full course fee will apply. I need my White Card urgently. What do I need to do?
Should you require the White Card urgently, you must advise us accordingly by ticking “via Express Post’ option during the registration process.  Additional postage fees apply. Please note that the CET takes no responsibly for delays caused by Australia Post.  Back to top
What are the different course fees?

CTF Subsidised Fee - $79

The Construction Training Fund's (CTF's) subsidised course fee may be available to persons currently working in the construction industry or unemployed persons who have worked in that trade in the previous six months.  The fee subsidy does not apply to persons working in the security and mining industries or Government employees.

 

 

NECA Member Fee (non CTF subsidised) - $90

You have a valid, current NECA Membership Number and the criteria for the CTF Subsidy does not apply to you.

 

 

NECA Member – CTF subsidised - $70

This fee applies if you are a current NECA Member and are currently working in the construction industry or if you are unemployed and have worked in that trade in the previous six months. The fee does not apply if you are working in the security and mining industries or are working for the Government.

 

Full Fee - $99

The CTF Subsidy eligibility criteria does not apply to you and you are not a current NECA Member.

How can I pay for my course?

Payment of course fees will only be required upon successful course completion.  Payment can be made via bank transfer through your bank institute, via money order or cheque.

Please note that the White Card will not be issued until full payment (subsidised fee, NECA member fee (subsised / non subsidised) or full course fee) as well as the required forms (Declaration Form for all students and Work History Form only where  applicable) have been received.

Can I complete this course over a few days?
You have to complete the course in one sitting.  That means that you cannot log in and out and must complete the course in one session. Depending on your knowledge this could take anything from one to four hours.  Back to top
Who needs a White Card?

The White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry Course) officially replaces the Blue Card (Safety Awareness Training Course) as per 1st September 2009.  The White Card has no expiry period. 

Blue Cards with an expiry date after the 1st September 2009 can be used indefinately.  These cards will no longer have to renewed every three years.

After 1st September 2009 the Blue and White Cards will be accepted on all construction sites in Western Australia.  The White Card will be recognised nationally, however the WA Blue Card will only be recognised in certain States and vise versa.  Should the card holder have not worked in the industry for two years or longer they will be required to complete the Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) Course to obtain their White Card.
