The White Card officially replaces the Blue Card as part of the Safety Awareness Training Course. It is now called the 'Work Safely in the Construction Industry Course'.
Anyone who has been issued with a Blue Card that expires after the 1st of September 2009 is covered indefinitely.
After the 1st of September 2009, both cards will be accepted on all construction sites as being valid Safety Induction Training in WA. The White Card will be recognised nationally, however the WA Blue Card will only be recognised in certain states and vice versa. If the card holder has not worked in the industry for 2 years or longer the card holder will be required to re-do the Safety Induction (Work Safely in the Construction Industry course).
