This course is facilitated and certified by Skillbuild Training through an established partnership with CET. This comprehensive non-accredited course is designed for electrical workers who wish to acquire the knowledge and skills to work in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) sector, combining essential technical theory with practical training in a half-day workshop.
This course provides a thorough overview of EV technology, focusing on various types of EVs, plugs and charging methods. It delves into the technical standards set in Appendix P of AS/NZS 3000:2018, exploring the types of RCDs and addressing load issues and maximum demand considerations. The existing product options for domestic and fleet requirements will be covered, followed by a review of current and future storage solutions and the compatibility between renewable energy and EV charging. During the practical component of the course, learners will have the opportunity to install, test and commission three different EV charger types, and plug these into an on-site EV. Knowledge and skills are further consolidated through a final 20-question assessment.
Upon successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
