Upcoming changes to the Electrical Contractor Training Program
Building and Energy have approved an update to the Nominees Modules in the Electrical Contractor Training Program.
There are currently two Nominees Modules - EA103A Operational Legislative Requirements and WAE100 Electrical Requirements. These modules have been reviewed, updated and combined into one new module - WAE200 Electrical Operational Requirements.
This new module is effective from 1 August 2021.
For licencing purposes, the Electrical Licensing Board will accept completion of EA103A and WAE100 as evidence until 31 July 2023.
All students undertaking the Electrical Contractor Training Program (Nominees Module) from 1 August 2021 will be automatically enrolled to complete the WAE200 Electrical Operational Requirements module.

In Western Australia, the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 provide that electrical contracting work may only be carried out by persons holding the appropriate electrical licence as issued by the Electrical Licensing Board.
This Building and Energy approved course satisfies the Electrical Contractor Training Program (ECTP) and provides licensed electricians with the training, skills and knowledge required to identify, investigate and apply statutory and legislative requirements, manage jobs and operate a business and inspect and test electrical installation work according to regulatory requirements.
Graduates will be issued with a Certificate of Completion. Application for licence issue should be made to Building and Energy: http://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/building-and-energy/electrical-licence (within twelve months of completing the mandatory course modules).
Please note, a resubmission of your assignment does not incur any cost. However, only one resubmission or extension request will be granted.
If after a resubmission you have not been found satisfactory, you need to re-enrol.
