Course Overview

CET, with the support of Jobs & SkillsWA funding are currently able to offer a heavily subsidised price for this course via Priority Industry Funding. Priority industry qualifications equip students to take up jobs in skilled occupations that are in high demand across Western Australia.

This nationally accredited qualification provides licenced electricians with the training, skills and knowledge required for the functional operation, calibration and fault finding of basic industrial instrumentation and electrical equipment.

It also provides skill sets in working with pressure, level, temperature, and flow and their application to analytical instruments for process and control.

Delivery Method:
Delivery will be by way of a blended learning program, consisting of face to face and on-line delivery.
Online Module - 6 month duration
PLC Module - 7 days classroom training and assessment
Instrumentation Module - 8 days classroom training and assessment

Course Requirements

Applicants must hold a UEE30820 Certificate Ill in Electrotechnology Electrician or a current 'Unrestricted Electricians Licence' or its equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory.

Developed Communication Skills is a recommended entry level benchmark. Each unit of competency contains entry level advice based upon the nationally recognised language, literacy and numeracy framework.

Fully enclosed shoes must be worn at all times in CET buildings. Safety boots/shoes must be worn when working in the workshop.

Skills Recognition

The CET Skills Recognition process benefits applicants who have undergone prior learning and recognises competencies obtained outside a formal educational or training environment, gained through life or work
experience. Competencies currently held by applicants will be formally assessed against each applicable Unit of Competency and maybe recognised regardless of how, when and where they were achieved. Skills Recognition is an assessment process and a cost recovery charge will apply.

CET accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/ or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by either AQF certification documentation
issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation or an authenticated VET transcript issued by the Registrar.

The qualification has a total of 396 nominal hours and is typically delivered via a blended learning approach with full-time over a period of three (3) weeks to be completed within 6 months.
